Prometheus - 6/10/2012
Tonight Sarah and I went to see Prometheus at Movies 10 in Nelsonville. This science-fiction thriller was directed by
Ridley Scott and starred Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce and Charlize Theron. This film is a prequel to the previous Alien films
released over the past 33 years.
The visual effect in the film are on a grand scale and completely photorealistic. The physics of the vehicles, spacecraft and
environment are totally convincing.
The film has an ensemble cast and each character fills out the story well.
The film created more questions about the aliens than it answered. As a prequel the aliens in this film will later evolve into
the classic creatures from the earlier film. But still these creatures didn't display any of the three classic features that I
have come to expect; the chest burst, the face hugger and the double set of teeth. I was left with the disappointment that there
was so little connection with the original film. Several plot elements seemed disconnected and lacked detail. At times the
storyline seemed to wander aimlessly. And I wasn't scared out of my seat once.
Despite the shortcomings, the movie was very entertaining and full of action.
This is a good movie. You should check it out.
