Literal Videos - 2/24/2010

A week or two ago my friend Alex turned me on to literal videos on You Tube.   When he first explained it to me I thought it would be a literal visualization of the lyrics of a song.  It is in fact just the opposite.  The video is unchanged while the lyrics are the literal description of visuals.

The majority of the videos are from the 1980's.  The music videos from MTV's early days provide ample targets for literal videos.   The storylines and Hollywood wannabes are just asking to be made fun of.  And big hair helps too.  Most current music videos are simply performance or dance videos.

I've spent a lot of time lately searching YouTube for these three-minute gems and laughing my ass off in the process.  Check it out for yourself.  Enjoy.
