Cedar Point Day Two - 8/22/2026
I woke up this morning looking forward to my second day at Cedar Point. I had breakfast at the hotel, checked out and headed to
the park in time for the 10:00 opening. As I waited with the crowd for the park to open a light rain began to fall. I looked
all around and it was just barely partly cloudy, but that one raincloud was directly above us.
The gates opened, and I headed straight for Siren's Curse and the Millennium Force and Steel Vengeance. This strategy worked out
well as the ride times were about 30 minutes each. But then I could tell that the crowd today would be larger than yesterday as the
wait times for the four major coasters quickly rose to an hour or more.
Before noon I had lunch at BackBeatQue where I had Pulled Pork and Baked Beans.
I wrote a few more coasters when a second light rain began to fall around 1:00. So I headed to the train for a relaxing ride and
to avoid the rain. While I completed a full lap aboard the train, I checked the radar on my phone. It showed a small rainstorm
over the park, but otherwise was clear except for a large line of rain showers off to the west in Indiana.
Once the rain stopped, I rode WindSeeker, Valravn, Blue Streak and Cedar Downs.
I was in line for GateKeeper and had made my way to the very front line and was ready to board when it was announced that the ride had
closed for weather related reasons. It wasn't raining, but I did turn and looked to the west and saw dark clouds approaching. I
instantly realized this was the line of storms I had seen earlier on the radar. While the other guests waited out the delay, I
immediately left the queue to make my next plan. Enough time had passed for me to be able to get one last meal on my prepaid meal
plan so I headed to the nearby Grand Pavilion for a fish and rice dinner.
I finished my meal and made a quick walk out of the park into my car as a light rain began to fall. By the time I had driven to
Milan Road the skies opened up and the heavy downpour hit.
I then made my way on my drive home and as I passed through Milan and Norway, I had gotten ahead of the storm and had a dry drive the rest of the way home. My quickly devised plan to exit the park worked out flawlessly.
These past two days at Cedar Point were a couple of the best days I've had at the park. And a complete turnaround from the bad
experience I had on opening day in May. Cedar Point, you're back to the top of my list.
