The Room at the Drexel - 7/12/2025
The Room is considered by many people as one of the worst films ever made, and has even been described as the
"Citizen Kane of bad movies". The 2003 independent romantic drama film written, directed, and produced by
Tommy Wiseau, who also plays Johnny.
Johnny is a successful banker who lives happily in a San Francisco townhouse with his fiancée, Lisa. One day,
inexplicably, she gets bored with him and decides to seduce his best friend, Mark. From there, nothing will be the
same again.
But the real treat of tonight's movie was experiencing The Room at the Drexel Theatre in Bexley. The loyal fans have
created their own live experience like that of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. They're always excited to indoctrinate
newbies into the cult of Wiseau. This has been a Drexel tradition for 16 years, making The Room a gonzo masterpiece.
I'm so glad that Sarah introduced me to this wild experience. I don't think I've laughed this hard at a movie ever. If
you've never seen this film at the Drexel, you don't know what you're missing.
