Adventure Port - 7/26/2023
Today I ventured to Kings Island to check out the park's new theme area, Adventure Port, which opened just last
month.
Kings Island has reimagined most of Octoberfest to this tell the myths of an ancient civilization and its mighty
city carved out of stone that have lured travelers from around the globe to this bustling port community for more
than a century. Located between Coney Mall and Action Zone, this area features two new rides, enhanced theming
for Adventure Express, Enrique's quick service restaurant and The Mercado.
Sol Spin is themed to a recently discovered mechanism that appears to be an immense sun disk created by an ancient
civilization. This Zamperla Endeavour features open air, suspended passenger vehicles and tilts vertically
propelling riders 60 feet through the air at 25 mph.
Cargo Loco is a Zamperla Spinning Tea Cup. Need a company to ship your goods? Look no further than the
Arrow Cargo Company. Experience the shipping barrels for yourself and get ready for a dizzying trip.
Adventure Express is a Arrow Mine Train that opened in 1991 and received theming enhancements this
season. The journey travels 3,000 feet of track twisted between trees and nestled into a hillside with two
lift hills. Experience an exciting excursion run by tour company, Arrow Cargo Co. During your tour
things take a (wrong) turn for the unexpected when your train veers onto the abandoned Track 2 Route, leading you
on a thrilling journey through a closed ancient track system filled with mystery and danger at every turn.
A trip to Adventure Port isn't complete unless you experience the local cuisine. Stop by Enrique's quick
serve restaurant for a menu that features traditional burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, salads and sides.
At the Mercado, guests celebrate at this local purveyor for dining, drinking, cargo transport and more.
I spent the day exploring the new Adventure Port and the rest of the park with a good meal from Coney
Bar-B-Que. It was a great day of riding with excellent weather.
