3.0 starsEverything Everywhere All at Once - 5/21/2022

Sarah and I went to the Regal Rockville Center this evening to watch Everything Everywhere All at Once. The action comedy drama film starred Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The film does a great job of teaching both the characters and the film's audience the rules of the multiverse.  The action was great.  The acting was great too and I loved seeing Yeoh and Curtis working together.

With several other films based around the concept of a multiverse, this movie was still very original and stands on its own.  It is the story of a woman being audited by the Internal Revenue Service.  No, trust me, this really works.  During production the working title was A Woman tries to do her Taxes.  The editing is great, including a mid-movie credit sequence.

This is proof that you don't need an pre-existing IP to make a great movie or start a new franchise.

This is an original and great movie.  Go see it.
