Tenet - 9/8/2020
Tonight Jake and I met at the Athena Grand in Athens to watch Tenet. This is Chrisopher Nolan’s latest
action epic. The film starred John David Washington, Robert Pattinson and Elizabeth Debicki.
This is a story of international espionage on a mission to prevent the end of the world. At the heart of it
is not time travel in the traditional movie sense, but the ability of items to move backwards through time. This
entire concept is like nothing I have ever seen in any film. The interaction of objects and people simultaneously
moving forwards and backwards is both mind-twisting and visually stunning.
The acting is top notch. I believe this is the first time I have seen John David Washington and Elizabeth
Debicki and both are excellent. This was my first real look at Robert Pattinson’s acting outside of the Twilight
story and this performance had removed any of my doubts about his acting abilities in the upcoming Batman film.
The only negative thing I would say about the movie is the vocal track. The combination of accents, masks,
sound effects and music score makes the dialog very hard to hear and comprehend.
That is an amazing movie. You must see it in the theater.
