 Joker - 10/7/2019
Tonight I went to see Joker at Movies 10 in Nelsonville. This thriller starred Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie
Beetz and Frances Conroy and was directed by Todd Phillips.
At first glance this movies is part of the DC universe, but is clearly a film that stands on its own. This is not a
glitzy, high budget superhero romp full of CGI effects. It is a moody, gritty character study. Telling the story
of a mentally-troubled comedian, a man disregarded by society, on a downward-spiral to ultimately become the infamous "Joker".
Joaquin Phoenix does a great job of portraying Arthur Fleck and is sure to be talked about when the Oscar nominations are announced.
I really enjoyed this movie. You should go see it for yourself.
