 Rogue One - 12/15/2016
This evening Sarah and I went to Movies 10 in Nelsonville for the opening night of Rogue One. To avoid the madhouse of the 7:00 showings we waited and went to the 8:10 screening.
This movie is the latest film set in the Star Wars universe, but it is the first that doesn't follow the Skywalker family. The adventure starred Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk and Ben Mendelsohn.
This was a great new adventure unlike any of the previous Star Wars films. It was especially refreshing to see a whole new style of film after the unimaginative story in The Force Awakens. The second half of Rogue One is particularly good with the feel of a heist movie and a war movie. The beach setting really felt like a World War II or Vietnam film.
The movie isn't perfect. I don't understand how the main character switches from being not caring at all about the rebels to joining them and championing their cause.
This is one of the best Star Wars films. Go check it out.
