U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus - 11/12/2012
This evening family, community and I joined together at the Nelsonville-York High School Gymnasium to see a very special performance by the
United States Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus.
The band is based out of Fort Meade, Maryland and traveled here to Nelsonville as part of their current five week tour across the midwest.
Since its formation in March 1946, the Field Band has appeared in all fifty states and in more than thirty countries on four continents.
Sarah was one of eight band members and seven choir members from Nelsonville-York High School that were chosen to perform with the Field Band
and Chorus for one of the songs. I am so proud that Sarah was given this great opportunity to receive this great honor of playing with
the U.S. Army Field Band.
The concert was filled with patriotic songs, classics and standards. I especially loved Nessun Dorma.
Tonight's concert was a great performance and it was an honor to attend.
