Scotland releases a convicted terrorist - 8/20/2009
Today Scotland released the only person ever convicted in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. Abdel
Baset al-Megrahi, who is terminally ill from cancer, served just eight years behind bars for his crimes. Scotland's First Minister
Alex Salmond stated that the release was based on Scotland's "compassionate grounds".
What about compassion for the 270 victims of the bombing and their families?
Maybe the United States should place a Travel Warning for Scotland? Perhaps President Obama should direct the State Department to
advise all U.S citizens to avoid travel to Scotland and any U.S citizen in Scotland should leave that country?
Also, wouldn't it be ironic if Mr. Al-Megrahi's plane crashed on his way home to Libya?
