Beginning Our Disney Vacation - 9/10/2025
Today Sarah and I began our four day vacation to Walt Disney World in Florida. Over the next three days we planned to visit Disney's
Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and Disney's Animal Kingdom before returning home on Sunday.
Our flight on Spirit Airlines landed in Orlando at 10:45. We took a Lyft from the airport to the Art of Animation Resort. We
were in our room by noon.
Our afternoon began with a light lunch at Landscape of Flavors at the hotel and then some time relaxing in the pool.
Next, we took the bus to Disney Springs where we arrived at 3:15. We strolled through the shops and checked out the wide array of
merchandise, souvenirs, clothing and memorabilia. Sarah came across a $25.00 Christmas check signed by Walt Disney for the selling price of
$22,000.00.
As dark clouds approached we decided to eat dinner and avoid the rain. The skies opened up and we made our way into the T-Rex
Cafe. This dinosaur themed restaurant offered American cuisine and was very kid friendly. Every twenty minutes there was a
meteor shower. Right near our table were a pair of animated dinosaurs with motion and growling sounds.
After our meal, Sarah and I continued with a little more sightseeing but as a light rain was continuing we decided to leave Disney
Springs and head back to the hotel. We were in line waiting for the bus by 6:20.
It was a good day of travel, eating and shopping. And now it was just past seven o'clock as we settled into our hotel room to
relax. By ten we were both ready for bed and looking forward to tomorrow and our first amusement park of our trip, Disney's Hollywood
Studios.
