Cedar Point with Emma - 5/23/2025
Yesterday Emma and I drove to Sandusky so that we could spend today at Cedar Point. From our hotel we arrived at the
main gate at 9:00 for early entry.

Trying to take full advantage of your early entry, we began walking from coaster to coaster. Raptor was closed. Top
Thrill 2, closed. Millennium Force was still testing. Maverick, Steel Vengeance, Gemini and Magnum were all
closed. After walking nearly a full lap around the park we finally got your first coaster ride on Iron Dragon at
9:36. Then it was onto Gatekeeper. So in our full hour of early entry access, we only managed to get two rides by
10:00.
As the park opened to the general public we continued with more roller coasters. Blue Streak, Valvarn and then Top
Thrill 2. Finally, after an additional year of waiting we got your first ever ride on TT2.

Before entering the line we passed through the metal detector and placed all of our loose items in a free locker. We
entered the long queue and waited for our ride. As we neared the station I realized that the line had been moving along
at a surprisingly brisk pace for such a popular attraction. We boarded the coaster and I found the seats and restraints
to be comfortable and well designed. The train moved out to the launch track and we waited for the ride proper to
begin. The first launch was noticeably slower than the launch of Top Thrill Dragster. The roll back down the tower
was good. I was looking forward to the 101mph reverse launch and it didn't disappoint. The climb up and freefall
back down the reverse spike was full of amazing airtime. Then the final launch was just as great as Dragster. Cresting
over the hill felt a little faster than Dragster. A little bit of ejector air rather than floater air. The descending
spiral and brakes were the same great rise as before. This was a fantastic ride and a noticeable improvement over Top Thrill
Dragster. Emma was extremely excited by her ride on Top Thrill 2. One criticism of the ride is that the pull ups at
both the tower and the reverse spike are a little rough and shaky. Overall, it's one of the best coasters and wildest thrill
rides there is. It is clearly in my top ten.

Emma and I then made our way to Frontier Town where we ate lunch at the Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill at about 1:00.
We continued out the afternoon with rides on Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Skyhawk. After a very long wait in line for
Maverick, we were one train away from boarding when the ride shut down. The expected repair time was too long for us to
continue waiting, so Emma and I left the queue and made our way to the next coaster.
For Steel Vengeance we had to pay for a locker. And again, after a long wait in line the ride was closed for an extended
repair.
Next was the very reliable Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad. Our ride on Millennium Force was notable for the experience
we had with the mayflies. As the coaster climbed and descended over the hills we were hit with various amounts of
mayflies. I could get the sense of our altitude by the impact of the insects on me.
Our final ride of the day was Magnum XL-200.
Today's weather was cool with a little breeze. Nearly perfect for a day at an amusement park. It was a great day
together with Emma at A Place Like No Other, Cedar Point.
