Cedar Point, Day Two - 5/19/2023
Day two of my trip to Cedar Point began when I arrived at the park for early entry at about 9 o'clock. During
early entry I was able to get two laps on Millennium Force. Wild Mouse was down, so I headed towards the back
of the park as it was almost time for the park to open up to the general public at 10:00. I headed to
Steel Vengeance to be one of the first riders. But opening time came and passed, and the ride was still
testing. I walked around the area to see if there were any other coasters nearby that were operating. Mine
Ride was down, Maverick was still testing and Gemini wasn't scheduled to open until 11:00.
So, on the Gemini Midway I rode Lake Erie Eagles and in Camp Snoopy I hit Linus' Beetle Bug. Still all of the
coasters in the back of the park were either not opened yet or were still testing. However, there was one
exception, Woodstock Express. I believe I have only ridden this coaster once before, and that was simply to get
the credit. But since there was virtually no line and not much else to do, I decided to go for a lap. I
got the front row of the train. When the train returned to the station and came to a stop, the lap bars released
and the ride operators unlocked the seat belts for all of the riders except for me. They explained to me that
the train had 'overparked'. The train had slid through the station brakes a bit too far for the system to
release my lap bar, as I was in the front row. They closed the ride and called for the maintenance department
to send a worker to manually release my lap bar. After about fifteen minutes I was free to go on with the rest
of my day in the park.
Throughout the day the crowds grew larger than yesterday's. I got rides on Cedar Downs, Gemini, Cedar Creek
Mine Ride, GateKeeper, Wild Mouse, Sky Ride, among others.
I had a great lunch at The Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill in Frontier Town.
After two great days at Cedar Point it was time for me to make the drive back home.
