Yellow Springs - 10/8/2022
Shawn and I spent the day on a road trip to Yellow Springs, Ohio and the surrounding area.
Our first stop was the Heart of Ohio Antique Center in Springfield. It was filled with countless items of every variety
you can imagine. Shawn was browsing for musical instruments, but didn't find any to his satisfaction.
We then headed to Yellow Springs. Traffic began to slow down a couple miles from town. We saw a dairy farm where
we could park and then ride a bus into town. We parked, got in line for the bus and waited. And waited. The buses
were small and the frequency was low. We returned to the car and rode on one of the back roads to get into Yellow
Springs. We found a place to park on a side street and walked downtown to the festival.
The displays of art were outstanding. Photography, painting, jewelry, sculpture, clothing and much more. There was
a great selection of food vendors. And Yellow Springs has a great hometown feel. I purchased a shirt for myself and
some gifts for others.
Next we made the drive less than ten miles away to the small town of Enon where the Apple Butter Festival was being
held. We checked out the arts and crafts vendors.
We headed towards Dayton and found a Buffalo Wild Wings for a bite to eat.
Our final stop of the day was Foy's Toys in Fairborn. Every time I am impressed with all of the endless Halloween
decorations in costumes. Various stores and so much to see and explore.
It was a relaxing, beautiful fall day browsing around western Ohio.
