Acela NYC to DC - 9/12/2022
With our epic Broadway tour in New York City at an end, today would be a long travel day. Sarah and I back to Rockville
and then me continuing on to Ohio.
The first leg of our journey home was by subway from Queens the Penn Station in Manhattan. Next, we boarded the Acela
train in the Moynihan Train Hall for our scheduled departure just past 10:00am and we left 8 minutes late. This was the
first ride aboard Acela, Amtrak's high speed train, for both Sarah and I. The smooth ride, speeds of up to 135 MPH and
with stops only in Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore, we made the trip in just under three hours. We arrived at
Washington's Union Station just 5 minutes late at 12:52pm.
We then took the Metro to Sarah's home in Rockville.
After a brief goodbye with Sarah, I headed out in my car for the five and half hour drive back home to Ohio.
For me, it was a total of two subway trips, a train ride and a drive in a car. Our extended weekend was finally at an end.
