Jolly Roger Amusement Park - 8/9/2022

Sarah and I started our third day in Ocean City, Maryland with a short walk down the boardwalk to pick up breakfast at Fractured Prune.  Sarah picked up doughnuts while I had an egg and cheese bagel and a Blueberry Hill doughnut.

During yesterday's visit to Jolly Roger at the Pier, I saw that there was also another Jolly Roger park in Ocean City.  I searched online and found Jolly Roger Amusement Park about a mile away from our hotel.  The attraction that caught my eye was Wildcat.

Sarah joined me as we walked to the park on Philadelphia Avenue.  While still a small park, it is larger than the one on the pier.  The park is essentially a very good collection of rides, which all appear to be well cared for.  And the staff was very friendly.

The park doesn't charge a fee at the front gate, so we made our way to a ticket booth and purchased rides on two roller coasters.  Sarah decided to simply watch.  Up first was Wildcat.  This is the exact coaster that was at Cedar Point from 1970 to 1978.  It was running great with no trims and still relatively smooth.  I was excited to have been able to experience this small piece of Cedar Point history.

The second coaster I rode was Barracuda.  This coaster had a ton of right hand turns with gentle and mild drops and a compact footprint.  A good ride.

After briefly looking around the park a little, Sarah and I left and walked to the beach.  We were now a little north from the end of the boardwalk.  We walked past the dunes and along the beach back to the boardwalk.  We continued south to our hotel.  With this section covered, we had walked the entire boardwalk.

After a quick change, we joined Emma, Jake and Crissy on the beach for the rest of the afternoon.

We all ate dinner together at Hammerheads.  We sat outside, along the boardwalk.  The restaurant has sort of a Margaritaville vibe to it.

Today was our last full day in Ocean City.  In the morning we will be getting up early to watch the sunrise.
