March For Our Lives, Gay Pride and Colin Jost - 6/11/2022
Crissy, Jake and I continued our weekend with Sarah in Maryland with today spent in Washington at a wide range of
events.
Up first this morning was March For Our Lives on the National Mall which began at noon. In the wake
of yet another mass shooting a few weeks ago, this one in Uvalde, Texas, we joined the masses to raise our voices for
change in our country's gun laws.

Some of the speakers were David Hogg, DC Mayor, Muriel Bowser, RuQuan Brown, Trevon Bosley and X Gonzalez.

Close the gun show loophole.
Increase mental health funding.
Create a national “Red Flag” law.
Require a license before a gun purchase.
Ban sale of high capacity magazines.
We walked several blocks north past the White House and towards the DuPont Circle neighborhood. We took in the
sights of the Gay Pride parade as it past by.

We returned to Sarah's place for a quick bite to eat, relax for a spell and freshen up a bit. The final event
of the evening was seeing Colin Jost at the Warner Theatre.
A fantastically funny show from the Saturday Night Live head writer. A great way to end our busy day in DC.
Tomorrow Crissy, Jake and I will be headed back home to Ohio.
