 Black Widow - 7/9/2021
Tonight Jake and I met at the Athena Grand in Athens to see Black Widow. Ths Marvel film starred
Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Rachel Weisz. My first trip to the theater in 2021.
The film begins with a pre-credits prologue showing Natasha's childhood in Ohio during 1995. After that,
the majority of the story takes place in 2016, right after the events of Captain America: Civil War. The
film uses it's 2 hours and 14 minutes runtime to tell a complete story, even taking time to take several scenes
to play out at a slower pace. Some are filled with lots of well crafted dialog and quite a few very funny
jokes. I would have never guessed that I would have laughed as hard as I did to the term "fallopian
tubes".
I don’t want to give the wrong impression, there is plenty of action in this movie. Lots of stunts,
visually great, massive set pieces and a great cast. And overall a good story.
This is a great movie. Go see it.
