Daytona 500 - 2/17/2008
This afternoon was the Daytona 500. The first 450 miles were OK... I only fell asleep once. The end of the race was much
better.
Juan Montoya spun-out the leader of the race with just 16 laps to go. So it's fitting that Juan finished in 32nd place.
On the final lap Kurt Busch pushed teammate Ryan Newman past Tony Stewart to win the race. Newman isn't my favorite driver, but
at least Toyota didn't get to claim victory of the 50th Daytona 500.
Fox's "new" Gopher Cam is a great camera angle. But please, don't pretend it's something new. I've seen it before. I
remember Mark Martin running over a camera like that at Charlotte back when he drove the Valvoline. How long ago was that? Before
2000. And if we have to see that damn gopher animation one more time, I'm going to puke.
My man Jeff finished in 39th place. Oh well, on to California.
