Cowboys and Leather Daddies - 11/17/2007
I lucked my way into a pair of tickets to the Cincinnati Bengals game this Sunday. Originally I had planed to simply
drive to Cincy and back on game day. My friend Matt and I found a cheap hotel room and decided to go down on a day early
and make a weekend of it. We hit the malls and out to eat. And tonight we hit the bars.
The first bar we hit was Shooters, a western bar. Kind of small, but a nice crowd. The cowboys seemed really cool
and down to earth. No drama. Yay! I was a little disappointed that I didn't see anyone wearing chaps. So
I had to settle for cute guys in tight jeans.
I've never been to a leather bar before so I thought about going to Serpent. I had checked it out online before leaving
home. But after reading their dress code I figured I'd never get in the door in a million years. But while at Shooters
we talked with a guy that said Serpent doesn't enforce the dress code on Saturday's. So off we went. I have to admit that
I was a little nervous as I walking inside. The bar was quite busy. With the vast majority of guys in leather. As
we walked thought the crowd I remembered that my friend Brian from the bowling league said he would be at Serpent judging a
competition. I looked around for just a minute and there he was. Matt and I talked with Brian for quite a while. It
was good seeing a familiar face. We had a great time.
My first visit at a western and leather bar quite an experience. Something that I'll never forget. I really did have a
great time.
