Steel Magnolias - 1/31/2019
This evening I joined Julie and Sarah at Templeton Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium in Athens to see L.A. Theatre Works
presentation of Steel Magnolias.
The play was presented as a radio theater production. The actors performed with no scenery or costumes, stood facing
the audience with and with no physical interactions between the actors. The only items on stage were microphone stands,
minimal background motifs and chairs for the actors to sit on during scenes they did not appear in.
The performance was well acted and it's a great story. The show was just as dramatic and moving as the film. Throughout
the performance I realized that the movie had followed the script of the play very precisely.
It was a great evening out with Julie and Sarah.
