Athens Block Party - 10/30/2010
Tonight Matt and I made a quick trip to Athens to check out the Block Party.
The closest parking we could find was on May Avenue near the Red Cross. We saw several cars that were parked illegally and were being
towed.
We walked uptown and made a lap around the length of Court Street. One costume that caught my eye was two girls dressed as the twins
from The Shining. I would bet that a lot of college students are too old to get it, but I sure did. I really liked it.
Some of the other great costumes were Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, Tom Cruise from Tropic Thunder, Jack Skellington
from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and one I'll just call "Down for the Count".
After about an hour of fighting the large crowds, walking around and giving directions to drunks from out of town, we made our way back to
the truck and headed home. This was the first time Matt has experienced the Block Party. I think he liked it. I did.
