WVU vs. Duke - 4/3/2010
My friends Rob and Dwayne from West Virginia invited me to join them in Columbus to watch the WVU vs. Duke NCAA men's basketball game.
My friend Tommy had join Rob and Dwayne, as well as their mutual friend Russ, who was in town from Florida for business.
I met up with the guys at Gresso's Pub and Grill on South High St. Rod who is a WVU graduate, had contacted the local alumni
chapter and was told that Gresso's was the place to be in Columbus for WVU fans to watch the game. The owner of Gresso's is a WVU
grad himself.
The five of us had some food and plenty of beer while we watched the game with the best of the WVU masses. Duke lead the game
early and slowly built on that lead throughout the game. A Duke victory seemed inevitable. But late in the game the Mountaineers
pulled to within five points. But it was too little, too late. In the end, the Duke Blue Devils won 57-78.
It was a great evening of beer, food, sports and friends. I was especially happy to see Tommy for the first time in a very long
while.
