Cabaret - 10/25/2025
Just a couple of days ago Sarah and I decided to attend tonight's presentation of Cabaret at Stuart's Opera House in Nelsonville. In
addition to the play, there was a pre-show burlesque performance.
We arrived about an hour before the beginning of Cabaret to be sure that we would catch all of the burlesque show. With this
presentation having partial nudity, I'm sure this was one of the most unique shows ever performed in Nelsonville.

I have previously seen two other stage performances of Cabaret, each with different endings. I was wondering how tonight's
presentation might conclude with today's politically charged environment. The show starred Cam LaGraff as the Emcee, Chloe Rader as
Sally Bowles, Clifford Bradshaw as Stuart Yaden, Grant Brown as Ernst Ludwig, Smantha Pelham-Kunz as Frealein Kost/Rosie and Carter Rice as
Herr Shultz.

The entire cast was flawless, with great acting and great musical numbers. There were standout performances by Chloe Rader, Smantha
Pelham-Kunz and Cam LaGraff. And I have to give special attention to Costume Designer, Carleen Doston for the great costumes,
especially to the fetish influenced designs for the Kit Kat Klub performers and the vast number of costumes overall. And yes, the
ending of the show had a Trump inspired addition.
It was a great night out of local entertainment with Sarah. And a reminder that I need to patronize Stuart's Opera House more
often.
