EPCOT - 9/12/2025

Sarah and I began our day at EPCOT when we boarded Skyliner at 8:15 for the ride from our hotel to the park.

EPCOT

Once inside the gate we made our way directly to Soarin' Around the World.  And it was sort of a walk on this morning.  This is a flight simulator that lifts riders on multi-passenger hang gliders for a scenic aerial tour of the globe.  It utilizes a 180 degree digital IMAX projection system.  Soarin' is now a Disney classic and is always a crowd pleaser.

Up next was Mission: Space where we joined the line at 9:45.  This is a centrifuge-based simulator.  The mission involves navigating a Mars trip with high G-forces and other simulated space conditions.

Sarah needed her morning coffee, so we stopped at Joffrey's Coffee and Tea Company where I grabbed a blue donut.

Our must do attraction of the day was Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.  We were in line at 10:20 for this coaster.  I did very little research on this ride, as I was hoping to avoid any spoilers.

It is a family-friendly roller coaster with a backward launch, a spinning coaster train, and a unique, high-energy experience set to a soundtrack of classic rock music. It's not the tallest, fastest or scariest roller coaster in the world, but it is the most fun.  This is one of the longest indoor coasters in the world.  Amazing visuals and great on-board sound.  I promise you'll walk away with a smile.  And this Vekoma becomes my 286th coaster.

We walked to the Mexico Pavilion where we rode Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros.  It is a gentle boat ride through different scenes of Mexico where guests search for Donald Duck.

Up next was Frozen Ever After in the Norway area around 11:45.  The water-based attraction takes guests on a musical voyage to Arendelle and the world of Frozen with scenes from the movie, featuring a mild drop and a backward section.  It features characters like Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Sven.

Moving right along we saw Reflections of China at the China Pavilion.  The 12 minute Circle Vision 360 film is a journey through ancient and modern China.

As part of the International Food and Wine Festival, Sarah and I got a sampling of Spanish cuisine.

Sarah suggested that we see the 1:30 performance of Voices of Liberty at the American Adventure Pavilion.  The a cappella melodies filled the rotunda with pristine harmonies that celebrate the American experience with music full of patriotic spirit.

We searched the nearby pavilions for lunch and agreed on Japanese food.

We journeyed to the France area and after a long wait in line we rode Remy's Ratatouille Adventure.  On this trackless dark ride we joined Chef Remy on a culinary adventure where we were shrunk and then raced through Gusteau's kitchen aboard a Ratmobile.

Next we made our way across to the other side of EPCOT to get a second ride on our new favorite ride, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.  We were back in line at 3:55 for the long wait.

When we emerged back outdoors at 5:10 it had started raining.  We braved the rain and made it to Test Track at 5:15.  After a while waiting in line it was announced that the ride had closed due to the weather.  As our wait continued, other guests began leaving the line.  After a while longer, Sarah and I also gave up waiting and left the line.  We made a mad dash through the rain to Connections Eatery where we braved the packed crowd to get dinner and get an elusive open table.

The rain had stopped and up next was Canada Far and Wide at the Canada pavilion.  This twelve minute film was narrated by Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy and shown in Circle Vision 360.

Journey Into Imagination With Figment was our next stop.  This slow moving dark ride featured Eric Idle and mischievous purple dragon Figment.  This nostalgic ride feels more out-of-date than anything I expected from Disney.

As the evening moved along, Sarah and I found a place along the World Showcase Lagoon to relax until the night time finale, Luminous: The Symphony of Us at 9:00.  The show features synchronized pyrotechnics, choreographed water fountains, lasers, searchlights, and fire torches to showcase and celebrate the passage of life, cultures, and customs shared across the globe.  The soundtrack included an original composition along with evocative selections from the Disney songbook.

We were already near the park exit and the Skliner, so right after the fireworks we were quickly in line for the gondola ride back to our hotel.  And at 10:20 we were back in our room.  In spite of the rain we both had a fun and exciting visit at EPCOT.  Full of memorable experiences, exciting rides and a variety of food.

Tomorrow will be our last full day at Walt Disney World with a visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom.
