Kings Island - 4/25/2025
I was up early this morning to make my way to Kings Island to start my new year of coaster rides. Right at the opening
of the park I walked directly back to The Beast for my first roller coaster ride of the year.

After a delayed opening I was off into the woods on a great ride. This ride was even better than before with more new
track added this past off-season. The most noticeable part is the re-profiling of the right hand turn just before the brake
shed. Overall, the retracking encompasses the section from just before the second hill, through the brake shed, and the
mid-course tunnel, including the track immediately before and after it. This was part of a project to replace over 1,600
feet of track, improving the ride experience by aiming for a smoother ride. It's estimated that more than 20% of The
Beast's track was replaced during this off-season project. The Beast was running better than ever.
Another big change in Kings Island's coaster lineup is Queen City Stunt Coaster. Formerly known as Backlot Stunt Coaster,
it was renamed and rethemed to the Queen City Stunt Coaster. This change celebrates the ride's 20th anniversary and honors
Cincinnati with its iconic skyline and landmarks.

I ate lunch at Coney BBQ where I had great smoked beef steak and roasted potatoes. Then I filled out the rest of the
afternoon with more coaster rides and enjoying the sights and sounds around the park.
With this visit my year is off to a great start of roller coaster adventures.
