Meeting Sarah in London - 6/11/2023
The second day of Sarah and my England adventure began with me landing in London at 9:00am while she made the
trek from Blackpool to London by train.
I made my way through customs at Heathrow and then boarded the Tube to head to King's Cross train
station. Meanwhile, Sarah arrived at Euston and headed to King's Cross on foot. After waiting an
hour or more, I looked up and there was Sarah walking towards me. It was so exciting to give Sarah a big
hug after all these months apart.
We left the train station and walked to our hotel just over a block away. We check into the Howard
Winchester Hotel on Argyle Square.
Soon, we were off again for a short ride on the underground to Camden Town. This eclectic neighborhood
is famed for its market, fashion, curiosities and counterculture. The area is popular with tourists,
teenagers and punks.
Among the many shops and restaurants we found dinner at Temple of Seitan.
We explored Camden Market with its stalls and shops selling clothing, accessories, music and oddities. There
was even a shop that had a live DJ.
We walked alongside Regent's Canal.

And a little further away, we came to Primrose Hill. For the most part, London is mostly flat, but this small
hill is a popular place to be able to view almost the entire city.
The park is a popular place to relax, take in the sun, as well as the view.
Throughout the day, the weather was mostly clear and sunny and quite warm. Sarah and I had done quite a bit
of walking, so as evening approached, we headed back to the hotel for a little rest.
After some time relaxing and a quick shower, Sarah and I decided to go out on the town to see a movie.
We took a short bus ride to Inslington where we caught the late showing of Spider-Man Across the
Spider-Verse at Vue. This was Sarah's first time seeing it, but I was more than happy to see it for the
second time. It's such a great movie.
By the time we left the theater it was past midnight. Getting back to our hotel wasn't a problem, as the
bus route was running once every four minutes. How great is London, that they have such good mass
transit. A bus every four minutes after midnight on a Sunday night.
Tomorrow, we are off on walking around Central London to see the National Gallery, Tate Modern, Millennium
Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral, Christ Church Greyfriars Church Garden and whatever else we might stumble upon.
