Duquesne Incline - 12/2/2022
After all of my visits to Pittsburgh, I still haven't made it to the top of Washington Mountain. Until today. Shawn
and I ventured to the Duquesne Incline.
We parked in the lot along W. Carson St. and walked to the lower station.
The cost of the incline was $2.50 per person in each direction, so it was a total of $10.00. Scaling Mt. Washington and
overlooking the Ohio, Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers it opened in 1877. It rises 400 feet at a 30 degree angle.
At the top is Grandview Avenue, where we were able to see downtown and beyond span out below.
We casually walked along the street to let the time pass and a sun to set further so that we could get some good pictures of
the city lights.
We made a quick visit to the mechanical room of the incline before riding down.

For some reason the trip down felt a little more precarious.
It was a relaxing side adventure with some spectacular views of Pittsburgh.
