Robbie Knievel at Kings Island May 24th - 4/27/2008
Today I read online that Robbie Knievel, son of world famous daredevil Evel Knievel, will attempt to surpass his father's famous 1975 Kings
Island jump with a death-defying leap over 24 Coke trucks on May 24th.
The successful jump over 14 Greyhound buses took place on October 25, 1975. Was the park really open that late in the year? I
mean, this was long before Halloween Haunt). Evel's jump set viewing records for ABC’s Wide World of Sports which still stand today.
I remember as a seven-year-old kid watching Evel Knievel's jump at Kings Island on TV. It was the first time I recall seeing something
on TV and saying to myself, "I've been there before".
This really brings back a lot of great memories from the my first trips to Kings Island. Which is what the park is going after this
year, with their "everything old is new again" approach this season.
Very nostalgic. And I'm very excited. And so is Sarah.
